DDC FIGURES

    UPDATED 19/01/2012

AQUAMAN 3-3/4 inch's

After doing the Cyborg Superman and The Phantom figures I started going thru the internet looking at other superheroes to do and saw Aquaman. I remember watching the old Aquaman cartoons when I was a kid but also liked him with the beard so I combined the old style outfit to the bearded character and what you see is the end result.

RECIPE

Body & hea  - Is made from a WWE Build N' Brawlers figure, I super glued the joints and once dry I puttied the joints and then used watered some PVA glue and then got tissue paper and started to adhere to the body to make the outfit. The gloves are from a Star Wars figure and teh belt is made from left over leather and the A symbol was cut from some left over plasti card.

Once the tissue paper had dried I used GW greenstuff to make the beard and then I started to paint over the dried tissue paper, I used Vallejo and GW paints to paint and weather him.

Base - The base is an old Sideshow 12" Star Wars base I had in the cupboard.  I used clay to build up the ground work and before it dried I used real coral and shells I found at the beach and pushed them into the ground work along with some plastic plants I got from the local pet shop.

The Manta Ray was from a tube of sea creatures I picked up at the local toy shop, once everything was on the base I glued fine river sand over the top of the clay and let dry. Once dry I gave the sand a wash of brown and then dry brushed till I got the effect I liked.

 CYBORG SUPERMAN  3-3/4 inch's

After I completed the Phantom figure I wanted to do Superman and while looking at pictures I saw the Cyborg Superman and knew that it was the next figure I had to do but I wanted to do him so his suit was battle torn and ripped.

RECIPE

Body & head - The body is the Marvels Universe DareDevil and is was cut up and the Cyborg parts added from a Playmates Terminator figure.  The head is mostly from a Terminator figure and the small face section is from a Star Wars figure and once all the parts were superglued together GW greenstuff was used to do the hair and all the parts of the battle damage suit.

Chest Emblem and Cape - The chest emblem is some old thin pleather and the cape is a piece of an old hanky, once everything was togther I painted and weathered him using Vallejo and GW paints.  The chest and cape emblem were then drawn on with a pencil and then painted.

THE BATMAN  3-3/4 inch's

I have to thank a friend of mine by the name of Glassman from the forums who put me onto these small 3-3/4 inch WWE Build & Brawl figures, they have just as many points of articulation as the bigger 6 inch marvel figures and the same amount of detail. Once the figure was completed he was painted using Vallejo paints.

RECIPE

Body - The body is from a WWE build and brawl figure.

Cape - is some left over material I had in the cupboard.

Gloves - Are from a SW biker scout and the spikes were added using plasti-card.

Chest Emblem and lower neck cowl - This is done using left over pieces of pleather and cut to shape and glued inplace.

Head and Belt - The head is from a SW Lobot I cut the neck and drilled it out and used putty to make the cowl and the ears a plasti-card. The belt is from a SW Luke Skywalker figure.

SUPERMAN   THE MAN OF STEEL  6 inch's

When I started making Superman I wanted to give him a gritty looking costume like I did with my Batman figure but also keeping with the original colours and style of the character we all know. For that reason I went for the body I used for my Batman as the it looks like real material and also the main body gives you all the muscle defintion that I belive Superman should have. When he was complete I used Vallejo and Reaper miniature paints.

RECIPE

Body -Marvel's Lengends Black Panther.

Boots - Marvel's Fantastic 4 Mr Fantastic, leather was added to the boots to give it the height

Head - X-men Magneto, I sanded down the hair and added new hair using GamesWork Shop 2 part putty greenstuff.

Chest Emblem - With the emblem I cut out the desired shape from left over leather and hand painted the S onto that.

Belt - The belt is again some left over leather cut to shape and glued in place using super glue

Cape - The cape ia an ols T-shirt I had lying around I dyed it and cut the shape out and superglued that into place.

BATMAN  GOTHAM'S ONLY HOPE  6 inch's

When I started making Batman I wanted a real gritty and menacing feel to him, I even wanted his costume to look gritty. So after about 4 weeks looking thru comics and the Internet and also doing some simple drawings I got the look I wanted. I also wanted to give him some kind of Armour but didn't want to go with the conventional style - (ie Armour built into the costume) so  I decided to go with Armour that could be seen and which would also look the part for a gritty Batman.

After he was completed I used Reaper and Vallejo paints as they have a greater range of colours then most other companies once he was painted and drybrushed I gave him a coat of sealant(Testor's Dullcoate) to stop any scratch's.

RECIPE

Body - Marvel's Legends Black Panther

Head and Belt- Marvel's Legends Bullseye heavily modified and green stuff added for the cowl.

Boots and Glove - Marvel's Fantastic 4 Mr Fantastic with the Armour and bindings added using leather strips

Batman Chest Emblem and lower neck cowl - Are pieces of leather cutout and glued in place

Cape - Is just some old fabric I had lying around I just cut out the desired design and glued it underneath the lower neck cowl.
