MANDALORIAN WARRIOR  12 inch

A few years back I did a 3-3/4" Mando Warrrior and thought it would be great to do one in 12" scale, I have to thank a good friend over at mousedroid as he was selling this figure. I decided not to go with the vibro blade but gave him to blasters instead, Once I got the look I wanted for the figure he was painted and weathered using Vallejo, Games Workshop paints and pastels.

RECIPE

figure  - The is the Jango deluxe from Hasbro, I kept the helmet, backpack, gaunlets, chest and code armour and the uniform from the kit and used boots from are from an Andromeda figure.  The cloth pieces are left over pieces I had lying around and I replaced the left holster with a WW2 ammo bag.

The shoulder armour is from a Clone trooper from Hasbro and the Mando Skull was drawn onto the shoulder and chest armour then painted. The helmet has had pieces added to it from the bits box.

AT-AT  GUNNER  3-3/4 inch

I finally got to watch the second episode of IMPS the other day and totally loved it, and it also gave me the inspiration to do an AT-AT Gunner which I thought was a awesome concept. If you haven't had a chance to see either the first or second episodes go and see them there awesome,  and once the figure and base were built they were pianted with Vallejo and reaper miniature paints.

RECIPE

figure  - The AT-AT Gunner is a combination of a Hasbro AT-AT Driver and  a Snowtrooper,  the helmet has had a visor added to it from an old X-wing pilot helmet and the tbes are from the bits box. The skirt is some tissue paper glued together and then attached to the figure.

Base - The base is made from a base which I got from a $2 shop and the hull section of the AT-AT was built up using foam core and cardboard. The interior equipment are bits and pieces from my 1/35 bits box,  the MG 42 is from some WW2 German soldiers that I have and the arm extender is made from some plasti rod and strips, the wires are from some old 1/6 radio equipment.

JEDI JAWA 12 inch

This was another simple and easy custom to do, I don't know if there is actually any Jedi Jawa's in the SW universe but it was fun to create one. The figure was painted and weathered using Games Workshop and Vallejo paints and extra weathering was done using pastels.

RECIPE

figure  - The Jawa is from Hasbro, The figure was cut super glued and re-pinned at the joints to get the desired pose. The tunic is from an old Hasbro Tatooine Luke figure and the saber is from Sideshows Bespin Luke which has had the hilt and blade resized.

Base  - The base is an old DVD lid the centre hole was covered and then a 3 part mix of plaster of paris, sand and PVA glue were  mixed and then added to the lid. Once dry it was painted and drybrushed using the above mentioned paints.

JAWA 12 inch

This was a nice and simple custom to do especially having done a lot of Indy figures/dio's of late, after it was all put together it was painted using Vallejo and Games Workshop paints and pastels were used to weather the clothing.

RECIPE

figure  - The Jawa is from Hasbro, I cut the right arm at the joint to give it a more straight look so it could hold the weapon better. The robes were given a good weather by using pastels. The weapon was modified by giving it a larger stock/butt and then a 1/6 walkie talkie was used for a power cell and the coil is from a 1/6 hand set.

The old rubeer bandolier was removed and a new one was added by using leather and and 1/6 ammunition pouches from a WW1 and WW2 figure, the droid caller was still used and a new pouch was made using leather a small buckle.

Base  - The base is an old DVD lid the centre hole was covered and then a 3 part mix of plaster of paris, sand and PVA glue were  mixed and then added to the lid. Once dry it was painted and drybrushed using the above mentioned paints.

SANDTROOPER with modified Blastech T-21  12 inch

I picked up a Medicom Sandtrooper cheap from a member on Mousedroid.com, once I received him I couldn't resist giving him more of a battle weathered look. The hands can be removed and the spare set attached and the upper torso and arms can still be articulated for more poses.

RECIPE

Sandtrooper - The Trooper as mentioned is from Medicom and I was very surprised how detailed this figure was, there have been no modifications done to the figure except for painting and weathering. The figure was painted using Vallejo paints and weathered using Vallejo paints and Pastels.

Blastech T-21  - The weapon is a modified WW1 machine gun I removed the circular magazine and replaced it with bits from the parts box. The sling is from a WW2 German MG-34, it was then weathered using Vallejo paints and Pastels.

Base - The base is two pieces of foam core glued together and then once dry I painted it then added sand. Once dry the sand was given a wash of light brown then drybrushed and weatherd using Vallejo paints and Pastels.

DENGAR  BOUNTY HUNTER  12 inch

This figure was actually a commission job for a friend (Josh) over on MOUSEDROID ,but ended up being a one for one project. In return for me doing this figure he's doing me a small section of a Star Trek (TWOK) bridge for me. He sent me the figure and I got started on finding pics from books and the net.

Once I found the references I wanted I started work on him, Josh wanted articulation to be on the figure still which once the armour was re-attached you still have 75%-80% articulation left. The other decision that we both tried to figure out was what type of base to do, Josh decided to leave it up to me so for me the easy choice was a Tatooine style base.

I decided on this type of base as it fits in well with any type of SW character and it sets the figure off without the base being to over powering and distracting from the figure itself. And hey Dengar would have been on some sought of desert planat once in his life.

RECIPE

Body - The body is from Sideshow Toys and it's the Bespin Luke one I liked it as it's a smaller size and works great with the armour and outfit. The head is from Hasbro and the gloves are from the Endor Soldier from Sideshow Toys.

Uniform & Equipment - The whole uniform is from Hasbro except the following, side pouches are from Endor Soldier from Sideshow Toys. The holster and pistol are from Sideshow Toys Bespin Luke, and the MG 34 is from Dragon Models. I also replaced the crappy forearm guards with guards from a Hasbro ROTS clonetrooper and added strips to that using plasti card. I aslo added leather straps to the arms, legs and crotch area.

Base - the base is from Sideshow Toys SW 1/6 line, I added marine foam on top and the side then roughly pulled pieces off and then added plaster of paris and fine sand, Once dry I painted the whole base to the desired colour.

IMPERIAL FIELD OFFICER in TROOPER ARMOUR. 3-3/4 inch

The Imperial officer was made using three different figures, I had to cut the neck, legs and pop the arms off the old imperial officer I then had to drill out the legs and arms to fit the sandtrooper parts.

I also cut Veer's neck off and glue it to the body once I got the desired look I then repainted him using GW and Reaper miniature paints.

Imperial officer - body #55

Head and neck section - are from General Veers SAGA collection #07

Arms, legs, helmet and belt - are from the sandtrooper from the EVOLUTION series #1

Pouches, holster and laser pistol - are from the bits box.
