U.S.S  ASUKA  DESTROYER 1/2500 scale

After completing the first two kitbashed Star Trek ships I decided to try a kit from Gizmotron, and once I received it I wasn't dissapointed.

A very crisp kit which didn't have any hull plating lines which is good as the decals will fix that problem. The decals slid on with ease and with little to no modification was needed, once the kit was built I sprayed it with Tamiya's Haze Grey and then with GW's Skull White, let dry for a few hours then added the decals.

RECIPE

Base - The base is from Games Workshops I drilled a hole in the middle and used plasti-card for the mount and drilled a hole in the bottom of the ship.

Ship - The is from Gizmotron Models which I got from www.federationmodels.com and I was very impressed with them way the model went together, very easy and with hardly any sanding. It came in two pieces and is made of resin

Decals - The decals are from Gizmotron Models which I got from www.federationmodels.com

U.S.S  TEREN  DESTROYER 1/2500 scale

This is actually the first 1/2500 model ship I did, I wasn't to happy with the decals I put on so I tried correcting my mistakes but with not a lot success. The model is a conversion from the AMT Enterprise 3 piece kit.

So I decided to leave it as it is to remind me where I went wrong and what to avoid in the future, don't get me wrong for a first time attempt I'm very pleased with the way it turned out but when I did the U.S.S ACTION I took my time when applying the decals/transfers.

Once the ship once built I sprayed it with Tamiya's Haze Grey and then with GW's Skull White let try for a few hours then started on the decals/Transfers.

RECIPE

Base - The base is from GW I drilled a hole in the middle and used plasti-card for the mount and drilled a hole in the bottom of the ship.

Ship - The ship is the Movie Enterprise-A from the Enterprise 3 piece kit I used the saucer section, neck section with torpedo section and the outer sections of the nacelles. I glued the two halves togther and then glued that to the bottom of the torpedo section.

Decals - The decals are from Gizmotron Models which I got from www.federationmodels.com and I was very impressed with them especially never doing a model in this size the decals are a great way to give you the detail you want without having to do it yourself.

U.S.S ACTION  TROOP-TRANSPORT  1/2500 scale

I've been wanting to do Trek ships for a long time now but didn't want to do the bigger scale ships as they take up way to much space so when I picked up the AMT Enterprise 3 piece kit I knew that it was this scale(1/2500) that  wanted to do as they are small enough to make a number of ships without taking up heaps of space.

Also with the great decals you can get on the market your ship can look as good as the bigger kits, Once the kit was built I sprayed it with Tamiya's Haze Grey and then drybrushed it with GW's 2 part mix of Codex Grey and Space Wolves Grey as I wanted to give it a older style feel.

RECIPE

Base - The base is from GW I drilled a hole in the middle and used plasti-card for the mount and drilled a hole in the bottom of the ship.

Ship - The ship is the TOS Enterprise from the Enterprise 3 piece kit I used the sensor and mount and attached that to the new secondary hull which is plasti-card with cardboard attached to the ends.

Decals - The decals are from Gizmotron Models which I got from www.federationmodels.com and I again was very impressed with them especially this being my second attempt at doing a model in this size the decals are a great way to give you the detail you want without having to do it yourself.

STAR TREK  LANDING PARTY - DEATH OF A RED SHIRT 1/72

When I saw the Star Trek The Original Series shuttle craft I knew that I had to make a diorama with it in it and what better way of doing that is to have it landed on a planet with a survey crew exploring it's surroundings, And as we all know that whenever a Landing Party goes to a new planet the poor old red shirt (security) are always the first to get killed so with that I started to make the diorama with the Red shirt getting killed by an alien monster. I painted everything using GW, Reaper and Vallejo paints.

RECIPE

Base - The base is a cheap picture frame I picked up from a 2 dollar shop it was re-inforced and then I used foam to make the rocks and then covered those with 2 parts of plaster of paris and fine sand and also added a tablespoon of wood glue to the mixture. Once dry I painted over it with different shades of browns and tans till I got the desired colour I wanted.

Shuttle - The shuttle is from Playing Mantis, I pulled it apart and cut out the door using a model knife and also added minor interior such as seats and console you can't see due to the figure in the door way. The shuttle was given numerous washes of light grey and once dry I also dry brushed it with flat white and dull grey to give it a worn look, I also added some weathering to it using falt back and falt brown.

Crew - The crew are from Preiser( German Tankers and German Infantry marching WW2 which are multi-pose figures which gives you the option of different positions you can put the figures in. Once I got the look I wanted I sanded of the uniform details and painted them in the uniform colours.

The Creature - The creature is also from Preiser(zoo/circus animals) I just added a tale using greenstuff 2 part putty to it as I wanted to keep it simplistic just like the Mugato(ape suit with added detail) and it was painted in browns, tans and drybrushed with 1 part brown and 1 part white

Equipement - The equipment is again from Preiser which came from some 1/72 train figures and accessories

STARFLEET CAPTAIN  CIRCA - 2278  12 inch

This is an older figure I did about 1 years ago he was going to be for a photo novel that I was going to do but ran out of space in the garage to do it so he went into the ole cupboard for storage so I pulled him out and stripped everything off him and repainted and re-dyed the whole figure. The chair I dusted off and gave it a fresh coat of paint, I used Reaper, Vallejo and GW paints on the figure and chair. The figure was going to be James.T.Kirk originally but I think the resemblance isn't the best so I just made him a generic Starfleet Captain.

RECIPE

Body & Hands - The body and hands are from DML(Dragon Models) 12" range I had lying around in the spare bits box.

Head - The head is from BBI(Blubox Toys) and is Peter Keyes he has had sculpting done to his hair, nose and ears using GW's greenstuff 2 part putty

Boots - The boots are from the very old AMT Star Trek Scotty hard plastic Kit I had lying around so I cut the boots off and fitted them to the DML legs.

Tunic & Pants - The tunic and pants have been hand sewn using patterns from the net and then dyed the desired colours.

Emblems & Insignia - All emblems and insignia have been made from either cloth or plasti-card and the patterns I got from the net and carved and cut them free hand till I got the look I wanted.

Chair & Base - The chair and base are made from balsa-wood, plasti-card and leather which I had lying the in the garage, The chair is of no particular design I just started putting together and what you see is the end result
